DAIRY OF A PROSTITUTE

A Chinese woman recently gave an interview to a local newspaper in Singapore in which she chronicled her 4-month stint working as a prostitute in the infamous Geylang district. In the interview, she described Singaporean men as "considerate, generous and yet stupid."

Of all the adjectives that she could have used to describe her "clients", I find it rather amusing that she would choose "considerate", "generous" and "stupid". Ok, maybe "stupid" might not be inappropriate after all considering that soliciting sex from prostitutes standing on the street is not exactly the smartest thing to do. But "considerate"????? Is that an indication that her clients did not make her perform any kinky acts that she was uncomfortable with? Or maybe her clients were "considerate" enough that they gave as much as they chose to receive? I can already see the blogs in Singapore working over-time trying to interpret her remarks.

Another thing that I found interesting about her remarks is that if these men that she referred to were NOT stupid, i.e. possessing the common sense not to solicit sex from women standing on the street, how would she be able to earn the type of money to feed herself and her family back in China? Hell, I would say a city full of horny AND stupid men would be a prostitute's paradise.

Last but not least, she ends the interview by offering a rather astute piece of advice for her clients - "Don't spend all your money in a moment of lust, because you have also worked very hard for it. You are not only hurting your health, but also your wallet. You are also putting your family's harmony at risk."
