In another classic example of how Fox News exclusively caters to the less-educated and largely ignorant hicks in America, Bill O'Reilly has criticized Time Magazine's choice of Vladimir Putin as Man Of The Year. His choice? General David Petraeus.

O'Reilly's selection of Petraeus is by no means a bad or incorrect choice. It is however, nothing more than a pander to its core audience of hard-core conservatives. It is a decision devoid of any thoughtful consideration of anything else rather than guns, bullets, and fighter jets.

O'Reilly's pathetic decision to pick on Time Magazine was a strategic one. After all, Time is a publication whose content is probably too abstract for most of The O'Reilly Factor's audience to comprehend and thus is seen by this crowd as part of the nefarious liberal media. It is also no doubt an attempt to once again remind his viewers of the decrease in violence in Iraq since the surge without noting that political conciliation - the primary objective of the surge - has had zero progress.
